ABOUT

Mary DeYoung

Mary DeYoung is an executive coach and licensed social worker with a passion for moving people from complexity to clarity.

With years of experience working in both nonprofit and for-profit spaces, Mary has seen firsthand how jobs set the tone for people’s lives. Conversations around her dinner table with the young men she mentors through A.Y.A Youth Collective highlight how the way they are treated at work often makes their job the thing they identify as the “crappy” of their week. Professionally, she often sees how good intentions are not always accompanied by the essential skills for healthy leadership and supportive workplace culture.

That disconnect is why Gray Space Collaborative exists. Mary believes that all people should have work environments where they are seen, valued, and given opportunities to succeed. Her unique skills and experience equip her to serve as a guide through complex, messy, and gray spaces to help well-intentioned leaders and businesses develop the skills they need to lead well and equip their teams to thrive.

“Sometimes the story we're telling the world isn't half as endearing as the one that lives inside us.”

Donald Miller
